When I read Designed with the Quilter in Mind I had to have one

The price was dirt cheap and it was something different I didn't have. I didn't see it was three in a package, I ordered four packages, so I have 12 of these things! It works great to hold the thread tails in place and out of the way, but after I saw it, I laughed. I could have made one in five seconds. Just pinch a strip of velcro and use double sided tape on the bottom. LOL

Interesting idea. Maybe I'll try making something similar. Just today I was quilting a table runner and needed 3 hands to hold on to the threads for the first couple of stitches and hold on to the quilt to sew straight. :)

I use a scrap fabric to sew on and off when I start my chains of blocks. We call them bunnies. It really helps to tame the nest of thread that can develop under your fabric.

To multi task I have recently started sewing 9 patch blocks at the start of my project chains. I always leave blocks I am sewing together under the needle. By the end of any of my quilting projects I usually have enough nine patches sewn together to make a charity quilt.

What I like best is the bunnies / blocks are FEEE!

Good idea Anna.
I have used this thread end holder for a few days now and it has become very handy.

Tried finding same velcro, its a different "hook" not your regular velcro found at stores. Found out its called hook #66. The stores don't carry it and what they have you must purchase at least a foot! Same went for that double sided tape, around $4 bucks for the smallest roll ! Guess it took thought, and labor costs to make these as it was Sewn where you say the "pinch" is, not to mention it probably cost something for the package, etc. Thought it was a good price considering. One tends to forget the time, effort & money it takes just to make your own replica of something handy. Just coming up with the idea !
Kudo's to the inventor who had the idea and actually had guts to put it out there for everyone as I'm sure it wasn't free to do so ! LOL

I used plain velcro, the kind I had in the sewing supplies. It worked great. The two sided tape was in my desk drawer, so that was kinda free. I wrote to the company asking how this item came to be designed. I got a response by email that I would get an answer soon. Things like this intrigue me to the hows and whys.

I happened onto the Leader & Ender technique a few years ago but don't always use it so I'll be giving velcro a try and see how it works.
