Straight pins

Post by knitnoid » Fri Sep 12, 2008 7:09 pm

I don't always use straight pins, but when I do, I prefer a glass head pin so I can press over it w/o running the risk of melting the pin head.

Yesterday, I bought some after doing some price comparison.

250 Extra-Fine Glass Head Pins Size 22 - 1 3/8" off the main notion wall cost $1.00 less than the same pins off the quilting notion wall with a 'quilting' label. I bought them off the main notion wall.

I use plain metal stright pins, no worries about ironing or bumps from pin heads. I use the long flat flower pins for pinnng anything I'm not pressing. You are so right about the price difference. I noticed that from the notion wall at Hancock's Fabric. General sewing notions are cheaper than the quilting notions of the same thing.
