The Halo

I bought one for my free motion quilting and I love it. It makes my hands much more relaxed, I no longer have to wear the hot gloves and it gives me much better control.

I have this too. I posted about in the Machine Quilting section a few months ago. It sure makes it easier to move the quilt under the machine. I ordered another one for back up. I learned my lesson on keeping a back up of the tools/gadgets that I depend on. Most times they get discontinued or hard to find.

I have one, but have only tried to use it once. I have a few quilt tops that I need to get finished, so will try it again. Glad to hear it was not a waste of $$$.

Have Fun,

I have something similar, except it has rubber on the bottom, is open toed and has handles. There are two sizes. I bought them on Ebay and I do like them.

I didn't think about this but if you don't have a flat sewing surface like an extension table the halo won't work.

That is an awesome little tool. I will have to look for it next time I'm at the LQS. Lori

I just purchased one today because I too don't like gloves and you can't find the old "steering wheel" in Eleanor's Machine Primer video/book anymore except at Hancock's website. The Halo looks a bit larger in diameter to save from having to lift and reposition, and a less bulky to work with.

Have you tried the Supreme Slider? It's really great also to keep the quilt in motion without drag. The only downside is I have to take it up with each bobbin change and get threads stuck on the underside. Thus, I have to rinse it a couple of times during each quilting session.
