ipquilter that is a smart idea.

I want to get El's new ruler that does the curved border, scallops, etc. I saw it demonstrated at the last quilt show. Thats on my list for ""Next purchase"". LOL

I have one also and love it. Especially for the flying geese or squaring up small blocks or squares.

ipquilter. . .I had the same idea, however, when you try to cut it topples since the support is only in the middle. The mats are very flat and the "turner thing" is under the whole mat. Its worth the money I think.

Mine is a 12 inch square. What other sizes do these things come in? I think this should suffice for most of what I need. Good grief, I have lived this long without one - one should be more than enough to meet my needs. I am so spoiled!!!

What about storing it? Do you have to leave it up or can it be put on it's side? Storing space is an issue for me. I would love one, but I don't want to leave it out all the time.

I hadn't thought about storing it. I will probably just keep it flat - when I find the top of my cutting table, that is.

I store mine on its side - the base is stiff so there is no bending or bowing when it's set on its side.

Used mine last night for the first time and love it. I am going to have to really think about getting the larger one too. I do leave mind out but have seen them at the LQS stored standing up so I don't think that it would be a problem either way. If you have one, hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine......if not, it may be just the new toy you need. The larger size is available on line from QIAD and is calling my name!!! LOL
Happy stitching!!!
