Clover Needle Threader

Post by Suzquilts » Wed May 30, 2007 5:56 am

When I first got this wonderful little doodad it worked great; lately it takes about 6 or 7 tries to get it done. Do these things wear out or am I using the wrong needle? Keep having to be sure the needle eye is facing a certain way; can't remember having to do that in the beginning. Thanks, ladies! Suz

Hi Suz, I have had my Clover Needle Threader for about 3 years and the only time I have a problem is when I try to thread a needle with an eye that is too small. I never worry about turning the eye in any direction. I guess your threader could be worn out but have never heard this before. Try different needles. I always lightly hold my thread on both sides of the threader when I push the lever. Linda

I never had a problem like you described.
I can't live without it though.

I've always wondered if those work. I thread my needles the old fashion way.

At first I had a problem also. But i found I was too picky on putting the needle in, just drop it in gently and I have no problem now. just getting used to it I think. can thread number eights and tens with no problem. Love it.

you might be holding your thread too tightly.

Okay, Linda and Quilter78, I think you figured it out; must be the death grip I had on the thread!!! Wonder what made me start doing that?

Thanks ladies, as always!!

I have the Clover desk needle threader and it always gives me trouble. I bought the cheap red and white one and it works perfectly every time. It won't thread the small between needles, I don't think any needle threader works on those and they are the ones I need help threading.

Yep, it was that death grip thing all right! Not a lick of trouble since I've "lightened up" LOL!
