1/2 square triangle pinwheel block: how to deal with the center "lump"

I know I have seen Eleanor clip a few threads so that the center makes a little 4 patch on the back, but I don't know which threads to cut. Can anyone explain or point me toward an online tutorial or something? I could press the seam open but I'm interested in learning the other technique. Thanks!

I think I have this right. . . ..when looking at the center seams on the back of the block, you clip the threads that are INSIDE the seam allowance, between the edge and the seam line. It's hard to explain withoug a visual. Her DVD "Double Pinwheel" has a demonstration. Not sure about any others.
Hope this helps.

I didn't know how to explain it either...it is the threads that are in the seam allowance only.

Click on the Kite Pattern and it shows pictures of doing this.
