I'm procrastinating

It's time to mark my HD's patriotic quilt and I've done everything this morning except that. I guess I'm hesitating because I've not done marking much so I don't know what I'm doing. Also I will use my chalk Pouncers for the first time. Mist with water, lay down the stencil and sort of rub/dab the Pouncer over it? I'm going now to try. Wish me luck.

Good luck!! Let us know how it works. I haven't done much marking either, so will appreciate any hints - of things to do or NOT to do!

Well, I did get some of it done. I marked the star field (it's a sort of a US flag quilt). Kinda made it up as I went without a stencil. I suppose it will look OK. I wish I wasn't so chicken to try a meander free hand. Tomorrow will be the big stencil and Pouncer day I guess.

Just enjoy the process....no one that isn't a quilter themselves usually knows what you have tried to do anyway....have fun with it. It will be appreciated no matter what!!

Well, I tried the Pouncer this afternoon. I spritzed the quilt with water, laid the stencil down, and just did it. Wow, it can't get faster or easier. If I had the correct kind of stencil (Full line stencil) it would be really, really great. I should finish marking tomorrow night. I only had a couple of hours to work on it today.

Homespun - neither can I!!!! ROFLOL This quilt has been a screw up from the get-go. It is all new things for me. I used Thangles for the first time and I love them. I tried to resize the pattern and it wound up not being long enough. So I tacked on an add'l. foot and made applique letters 'USA' using El's applique method for the first time I and stuck those on there. Now I'm marking the quilt using the Pouncer for the first time. It's working great. I hope I can get all that blue chalk out. Once I get this thing on my quilt frame it will be the first time I've quilted from the front of my machine. Last quilt I did was using a pantograph from the back of the machine. I can't wait to get to the binding part - I've done that numerous times before so it will be familiar - YIPPEE.
