Re: matching points
A while back someone had this question. I think it was either QuiltCreator or Qltsbme that came up with a wonderful explanation.
It might help if you tell us what type of points. A regular intersection like the center of a four-patch. Are you talking about the points on a star as in when combining blocks together you are losing the points on the star tips? What block did you have in mind?
Are you talking about 6 to 8 points connecting in the center?

Re: matching points
I did a demonstration on QNN last year, I wish I had it on DVD.
This take a while to type but here goes:
Place RST, pushing your points together(with your fingers) making sure the TOP seam allowance is pointing toward the needle(VERY important). Place the "nest" under needle and just stitch 5-6 stitches, starting before the seam and going 3 stitches past, hit your Auto thread cutter if you have one(or use your thread cutter on the side of the machine, move to the next "nest", same thing.
When you finish that row, start at the top and just just stitch your 1/4" all the way down.
All of your points will be perfect! No pins needed!
This may be in the archives at QNN.com, not sure. Amie

Re: matching points
I do the same as quilterbee. I match each point and then machine baste the seam where the points meet. Non matching sharp points don't bother me at all. My goal is sharp points.

Re: matching points
Unmatched sharp points do bother me, they must be perfect or I am never happy with the quilt. Amie

Re: matching points
Don't ever look at one of mine then, if mismatching bothers you. You will be in a permanent swoon.
