QUILTING MOTIFS

Post by INKA » Thu Jun 21, 2007 11:15 pm

Where do you go to find free downloadable quilting patterns? I mean not for piecing, but for embroidering to embelish your quilts.I am interested in simple, if possible "continuous line" motifs to be quilted on my machine (not by hand).

Quiltmaker Magazine. Their website has hundreds of downloadable quilting motifs. Not embroidery designs, though - do you want those or quilting motifs?

Thanks QC. I just checked it out and they have some nice designs. I think chosing how to quilt my quilts is the hardest part for me. I have a hard time deciding on a design.

Quiltcreator. . .

I went to quiltmaker magazine but only found advertisements. Could you post the web address of the patterns?

I see that QIAD has a "Machine Quilting Primer" that I had not seen before. Possibly because I wasn't looking for it but I want to try some free motion quilting this summer. It has a dvd, so probably should get that to. It might have a few easy patterns for beginners.

The QIAD catalog that is sent with orders is really giving my VISA card a workout!!!!!!!

Zfatcat. . .

Thank you so much, what a great website!

I guess I'm going to add to my UF group as I am going to try the free motion this evening. I like the little leaf pattern and I love the daisy.

Apparently Quiltmaker has discontinued that part of their website. I just went there and tried to find them and all they had was a motif of the week. They used to have a huge file of free ones, but I can't find them now, either. We may have to complain!
