Fusible interfacing

Post by BarbieJean » Mon Jun 11, 2007 4:45 pm

Help. For my fusible interfacing I used WonderUnder and I think that was the wrong product. I was making the Drunkards path for the UGRR block. The interfacing was just like paper when I had to slit and turn, it did not work well. I managed to make it work, but I do not think it was the right product. Now, doing the Wagon Wheel I need the same product, so I want to make sure I use the right thing this time.

WonderUnder is fusing web. You need just featherweight or lightweight fusible interfacing, Amie

BarbieJean - you need very light weight non-woven fusible interfacing. JoAnn's has it and so does Hobby Lobby and your LQS. It is so easy when you use the correct product. I love El's way of fusing and applique.

BarbieJean

Boy I have been there. I tried to do Eleanor's Double Wedding Ring and used Steam A Seam. Couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Finally realized what I was doing. The fuseable interfacing is wonderful. A well-learned lesson.

You need a light weight fusable. You can find it at Joann's, but must quilt stores don't usually carry it.

BarbieJean. Your problem in using Wonder Under is that it is a product with fusible on both sides. It is meant for fusing two fabrics together. Plain fusible interfacing only has fusible on one side. That's what you need. The QIAD store carries it. You can call them up to order if it is not on the website.

I bought some Soft Fuse from the LQS. I like it. I used it on the GFG for the Egg Money Quilt BOM.
