How do you figure the sizes for flying geese if you only know the finsihed size using elenor's flying geese way.
She gives a couple of rulers and dimensions for them but what about all the other sizes. How do you figure them.

I think she gives the formula that if your flying geese is 3" by 6" then you add 1 1/2" to 6" for the small square (which turns out the be the large triangle) = 7 1/2" then add another 1 1/2" to get 9" for the large square (the two small triangles). She demonstrates on one of her videos how to use a regular square up ruler to make these. You only need the special rulers after you have done all your sewing.
2" X 4" = 4" + 1 1/2" = 5 1/2" (small square) 5 1/2" + 1 1/2" = 7" (large square)

You're welcome. I really like how Eleanor takes something and makes it easy. Her method is my favorite way because I get perfect geese everytime. I don't always get perfect ones when I have to attach the little squares to the rectangle then sew on the line then trim. They sometimes turn out lopsided!
