Isn't this a wow idea?

In the ditch does not mean right in the seam line, it means right next to the seam line opposite the seam bulk. To get perfectly straight evenly spaced lines of quilting use a twin needle with only one needle treaded. The empty needle will sew in the seam line, the threaded needle next to it will sew a perfect spaced even quilting line. This works great for echo quilting too.

Wow great idea
Hitting myself on forehead, guess I should have had a V8.

Interesting concept. I have used a twin needle in sewing suits, etc. Guess I have to put it to use again.

* looking out window with a glazed look in my eyes while mumbling* yep, that makes total sense to me. To think all these years I thought in the ditch meant right on the seam line. You don't want to know how many times I've ripped and requilted.... Ya learn something new every day!

I think in the ditch CAN mean right in the seam line - it's either/or. And why can't you just use your foot to space the distance - wouldn't that be the same thing as the unthreaded double needle?
