Foundation Piecing

Post by susannon » Tue May 15, 2007 12:34 am

I want to start foundation piecing, because there is a lovely kit by Jinny Beyer (my favourite after Eleanor!) that I want to make. However, I cannot understand it, and I do not find that the instructions in her kits are simple. The thing I love about Eleanor's books and instructions is that even I can get them. I have been shown foundation piecing countless times, but it makes no sense to me. Does anyone please have a site where it is easy to learn, or can someone explain it so a total fool with no spatial awareness can learn it, i.e. me?

Thank you from rainy but beautiful Somerset UK,

Susannon

The best book on foundation piecing (not paper piecing) is by Anita Murphy titled "Reversible Quilts". Her instructions are crystal clear and I was a total beginner and did her quilt in a week.

Inka, when you post links, you need to remove the "http/" in front of it so it will post.

Susannon - I love Jenny Beyer'a quilt's too. I'd love to tackle one someday but I will NOT hand piece mine. I assume the cutting and piecing would be the same. She does beautiful stuff!!!
