Quilt in a Day Forums

Hi Ladies,

I am working on a Full size quilt which I need to hand quilt. I have done this before but in a very simple way. This one I want to make special and use different quilt patterns for each block. How do you guys transfer a pattern on a block if you don't have any templates? Thank you. Wish all a great weekend

One way is to place a piece of white or light colored nylon net on your pattern and trace it with a permanent marking pen (on the net). Place the net on your piece to be quilted and trace the lines with a water-soluble quilt marking pen.

the only markers I use on my quilts now are Frixion pens. The marks stay until you iron them off. And they iron off easily. Quilt shops sell them, as well as Office Depot. $6.99 for 3 of them. But our Joann's never heard of them.

I use the Pounce Pad system, or the air erasable pens.

I agree with some of the others, the Frixion pens are brilliant!! Since discovering them I haven't used anything else. Just a touch of a hot iron and their gone!! And you can buy them from Quilt in a Day

My Joann's never heard of them either, yet I believe I ordered mine from Joann's online. Go figure.
