Apron question

Im making apron for a friend. The pockets are about 6 inches wide I want to put a slight ruffle across top of pocket how much wider do I need to cut fabric for a 6inch pocket

one and a half to two times the width.

Thanks I had no idea on this as i don't usually do ruffles in fact this is first apron I've made since i was in 4H in the 4th grade in the early 50s gosh I better hush m giving away how old I am thanks for the reply I had about decided no one is reading this page
