Double wedding ring quilt

Have completed table runner using templates from Egg Money Quilt book. Is there any reason I can't use the arc template to make solid fabric pieces rather than scraps of fabric? I'm wondering about the positioning of the template on fabric regarding grain line. Any advice?

I would say that you could use the arc template for a solid piece of fabric. And that would make a very pretty block!

I just finished a queen size quilt with the the egg money quilt pattern for my cousins wedding. I was going to experiment myself with using a solid piece of fabric for the arch.I think it should turn out ok.Let me know if you try it before I have a chance.Actually I have made 2 quilts from this pattern.The first one was for my daughters wedding.It was dark purple at the ends of the arches.It was really pretty.I love this pattern.
