Merry go-round pattern

The free Merry Go-Round pattern(pinwheel)download is for a 12" block.
I want to make a 8"block. Can someone help me convert the measurements.
I have tried but I am not doing something right. I know Eleanor makes blocks larger then trims to correct size. Every measurement in the pattern has to be converted. This pinwheel is less time consuming than the patterns that you have to cut each piece separately.
Thanks in advance for any help given....Faye

Hi Faye,
I looked at this and keep going cross-eyed! Going from 12 to 8 inches finished size is reducing it by *about* 1/3. I think. Try calling or emailing customer service to see if someone there can convert it for you. That's a great block!

You can take quarter inch graph paper and draft it yourself. Ot is not that hard -

First -- draw a 8 inch square on the graph paper

Second -- place all the lines for the block pieces - just like they are in the bigger block

Then you can see the measurements of each piece - to triangles add 3/8 inch to all sides - straight pieces just need the 1/4 inch to all sides and you should have a block that is the size you want.

There are drafting instructions in many quilt books and magazines that will help you too.

Good luck
