I made my granddaughter a lovely wedding quilt. when do I add the quilt label? Before or after quilting?
What should it say, and how on earth can I keep it small enough to not be noticable? Does it go in a corner, and if so, does it matter which one?

I put mine on the back of the quilt in a lower corner - and do it after the quilt is quilted - I will catch part of the label in the binding so it holds secure. I hand catch the rest of the label in place.

You can use an ink jet printer label or make one yourself - I use a Pigma Permanent Ink marker - like for scrapbooking - do the writing and then run a iron over the label writing to set the ink permanently.

You can say anything you want on the label - you can be as simple as your name, title (Grandmother) and the year you made the quilt. You could also add for the Wedding of ----- , etc. Anything goes!

Have fun with it and it is a treasure for your granddaughter!

This is a pretty label. Sorry the pic doesn't do it justice. I found a beautiful doily and made a label out of it. You could also use a square hanky and fold it in half corner to corner and secure it in the quilts' corner. You need an open space to write on.
Would be nice for a wedding quilt.

Doesn't matter how you do it just make sure you do it. In years to come she will be proud of the label as well as the quilt
