Quilt in a Day Forums

I am a new quilter. My second quilt which I am machine quilting is a Pinwheel pattern. What is the best way to move from block to block? Do I have to start and end in each block or is there a way to move continuously from one block to the next? I am going to outline each triangle that makes up the pinwheel. I have some excellent quilting books but none of them address the mechanics of moving from one block to the next. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

You can end your quilting in the block that you are doing and then move to the next - just be sure to tie off and hide your ends. If it lends itself to move from block to block - that can be done too - I look at what it will look like from the back - to create a pleasing flow between blocks.

When I machine quilt I try to make my lines as continous and long as possible. This saves me from having to many knots to hide!! LOL
