Making the Quilt Sandwich.....

I have always put my quilt together by putting the layers on a table and working in sections. I wonder if anyone can tell me how this is done when it is taped to the floor, in one large piece, and put together. Do you still start in the middle and work your way to the edges? If so, how do you reach the middle if you are working on a full sized quilt?
I would like to give this a try.

I have done the floor routine a few times -

I put the back down first - right side to the floor and use the blue painters tape to hold it tight and taunt.

Then I lay the other layers on top of that

I then baste - either with safety pins or use a curved needle and thread working from the outside in - side to side and top to bottom - making sure all is secure - remove the tape and then quilt either in a hoop by hand or on my machine.

Hope this helps
