Y seams

Post by paulinemcg » Sun Mar 14, 2010 3:54 pm

Can anyone help with y seams on a carolina lily block.I saw a technique on simply quilts a few yaers back now where a quilter folded the fabric and then sewed it.When it was opened up presto the Y seam was sewn without marking dots etc.
Does anyone know where i can access this info, simply quilts does not have a record of it.

So sorry. I only know one way to make a Y seam and it does not envolve folding fabric. I hope someone can tell you how to do this. I would be interested in the technique.

Take a look at the site that Kay Wood has. She may be able to help you wih this. If not, you can google Y seams in a quilt and may be able to find it there. Pam

El does Y seams in her Victory quilt - it is really very easy - Her method is great - go look in the media theatre section of the website and watch El do it.

It is hard to explain without the pics -
