Help! I have a request for a quilt and they would like the quilt to be fluffy versus flat. Can anyone help me with a great suggestion to make a quilt (looking at the Day and Night quilt and the Log Cabin quilt).

What would one use for filler/batting to make it fluffy!!!

Thank you!!

hi TZ.....

there are different size "lofts" in batting... low loft is a fairly flat quilt.... medium loft is sorta thick and high loft is quite thick....

hope this helps.

Hi, TZ!

We're "neighbors"! I live in Gig Harbor and DH works in DuPont. Nice to talk to you.

Chriss is right about low to high loft batting choices. Another thought is if it's very high loft, you might consider tying it instead of quilting it. I've never quilted a high loft, but others who have done it have suggested tying might be a way to go.

Good luck!

Tying is a way to allow the batting to retain its loft. If you must quilt it, do as little quilting as you can; the package will tell you how far apart.
