Triple Irish Chain question

I would love to make the Triple Irish chain quilt that Eleanor did with Wendy Gilbert. When I reviewed the instructions it calls for strips 2 1/4 inches. Does anyone know how to "convert" the pattern to strips 2 1/2 inches. I would love to use some jelly rolls to make a quick scrapy chain and I would hate to cut 1/4 inch off of each strip. Can I just add 1/4 inch to all the measurements ???

I don't see why not. A quarter inch is going to make the quilt a lot bigger. But if that's ok - I would think you could use any size strip. You just gave me an idea what to do with my strips.

I just finished a triple Irish chain quilt in time for Christmas for my son. It was in 2 1/2 inch blocks with a 6 1/2 or 6 1/4 inch block. It was a pattern that I got out of the Fon's and Porter mag. Called Dave's Irish Chain.
