I have a lap sized quilt that I have stitched in the ditch along both sides of the outside borders (2) to anchor it. I have also stitched 1/8th inch along the very outer edge of the quilt. Since there is now stitching all around the quilt and it will not shift, can I bind it first before doing the machine quilting on the inner panel? Seems like it would make handling the quilt easier, but goes against everything I have read.

Re: Binding Question
The only reason I can think of to do the binding last is to be sure the qulting lines go underneath the binding. If you have the borders/edge quilted the way you want then go ahead and bind it and then quilt the center.
