I use silicon pot holders. They work great, but get warm themselves. DH suggested making them the filling for a regular pot holder. Works great??

Sounds like it should work to me. The silicon glove becomes the insulator/lining and whatever you use for the top becomes decorative and should cool down faster. Let us know when you make some and try them out.
