HELP--Another DWR question

I have most of the arcs sewn together. I could not afford to get the interfacing to do the blocks by appliquing the arcs to the block, soooo I am going traditinal. My problem is should the arcs be sewn to the diamond first, then add the football or should two arcs be sewn to the football then add that unit to the diamond?. Any advice?

Mary

The instructions in the DWR I started years ago had me add the arcs to the footballs AND the centers befor inserting the diamonds. But as I understand this, this is quite unusual.

Okay knitnoid, I think I'll go ahead and try both ways to see if one way is easier and neater than the other.

Thanks

I finally got my dilemma figured out. I was missing the blocks that need to go at the end of the arc to complete the football. In case anyone else is working on a traditional DWR instead of applique', it works best to sew 2 arcs together (facing each other)first, then insert the background center.

One of these days, after I get this quilt finished, I'll think about writing up a more simple instruction tutorial for us.

I was really having a dumb as dirt moment trying to get this figured out. Then yesterday, after work, I unsewed all the parts I had put together (except the arcs of course). Then I laid out all the different sections and VOILA, it hit me square in the face what was wrong. ROFLOL Thanks for listening to me ramble on.
