Tip when you are sewing strips... (pic)

Post by MastiffMomQlt » Sun Sep 14, 2008 12:10 pm

I made a project that I needed to sew a lot of strip sets together. I used mole skin on either side of the strip & put the pedal to the metal. The mole skin helped to guide my strips & keep them straight to the needle :)

Here's a pic:

Joanie, moleskin is this stuff you put on your feet or heels to keep from getting blisters or to aide in the healing of blisters...corns...etc. It is like a real thick flannel (soft) that is sticky on one side. Quilters use it like the pictures shown and some use it instead of a 1/4 inch foot. You stick it to your machine a quarter of an inch away from the needle and then you just butt your fabric up to it as you are sewing. Clear as mud??

Mastiff - I know I'm probably just thick, but the beige in the pic is the moleskin, right? Are there two pieces (one on each side of the strip), or is it just one piece with lines marking the edges on both sides???

Clear as mud! Hope you understand my question!!
LOL
