I've never heard of lock hooking. I've done latch hook rugs. What is lock hooking?

I bought a kit to make a throw rug but I haven't started it yet. My kit has wool strips but you can use fabric strips or wool rug yarn. it's not latch hooking or wool rug hooking. It's the easiest of all the hooking!

that technique has been around a couple of years. I tried it and made a hot mat. Takes lots of strips, which you could use up you scraps to do and its very time consuming. Probably will never do it again. Marge

Marge, are you sure it was locker hooking? I did some locker hooking on a demo rug before I bought the kit and it was fast and easy. Maybe I'm thinking of something different. Here is utube video on how to do it. I love utube for the visuals I need to understand something!

Oh, my gosh, Sewbug, I saw this done at the quilt show and I didn't buy the materials there. I lost the lady's card and I could not remember what it was called and looked and looked on the web for it and couldn't find it. And here you are with the utube. I am tickled to peices about this. I've been wondering about it for 10 months now and thought I would have to wait until the quilt show. Also hoping I'd be able to find the lady again a mongst all those vendors. Thank you so so much. Now I'm going to try and find a website to get the hook thing. YIPPEE
