String quilt

Post by Sara » Fri Apr 18, 2008 11:15 am

I'm thnking about trying a string quilt with some of my pastel noodles. I don't know whether to use paper or fabric foundation? Any suggestions from your experiences?

The stockings we made for the troops were string pieced on fabric and they went together really fast. Make them a little bigger than you want, then trim to size. I have no expierence with string piecing on paper.

Good luck and have fun.

I've always used a thin muslin. Seems to stabalize the block.

My string pieced pinwheels were done on pages from an old phone book.

That sure turned out pretty Knitnoid. I can't remember seeing them make into pinwheels before.
