Binding a quilt

Iam a new quilter... Having a horrible time with binding.. any ideas would be helpful...

WElcome tootshall. If you go to the top of this website, click on the Television and Video tab, then scroll down a little to "demonstrations", then click on "binding" you'll get a demonstration by Eleanor Burns on putting on binding. It should help a lot. carol/kittyquilt

Yes I agree with kitty, you should watch El's video. If you have any of her books most of them have a couple of pages of how to do bindings.

Tootshall, if you are a new quilter, I would recommend NOT attempting bias-cut bindings. They take a good deal of extra time, and bindings cut on the straight grain really don't look any different once they are done.

Someone here has already recommended El's books; I prefer following a book rather than a video, but we all learn differently. Keep trying; you'll get it!
