little bits of paper still on my paper pieced quilt

im wondering if this will mess me up when i machine quilt it as some of the paper is still in the stich seam it just willnot come out and i dont want to mess my stitches upare break them

Have you tried wetting it a little bit? That might help. Meybe you could get it out with tweezers. I don't know about sewing over the paper.

actually i wet it before i removed it but it just still dont want to come off i think my paper may have been to thick it was paper i use in my copier and scanning

I also wet the paper and use very slim tweezers

It won't hurt a thing. Usually I tear off the big pieces and what doesn't come off stays in block. I don't have the patience to pick out pieces of paper. I'll let the quilt historians 100 years from now find the paper pieces left in. They'll be so thrilled!

Also-try using regular cheap notebook paper. It tears off lots easier then printer paper. Ask me how I know! *smile*

Ollie, next time you paper piece, try tightening up your stitch length to at least 20 stitches per inch. That should help it tear away better also.

it is not the end of the world just quilt as desired - i think we all have had paper left at one time or another

thanks i have learned for next project to tighten my stitches and probably need to use lighter weight paper i really should have asked all this before i did my first project oh well now i know (smiling)
i wonder why i did not think to use notebook paper
