Thank you all so much for your help. There is NOTHING around here unless I want to drive at least an hour, and that just doesn't work wrk for me.

IowaGal, I'm with you on the confusion of paper piecing... I made my second ever attempt at it today, and just thought I'd understood the basics when I accidentally cut off a piece instead of the seam allowance after the piece was sewn on! #/&%/%€#!#∞§[#^& :-(

Oasis, thanks for the carol doak website. Checked it out and printed the free pattern. I am going to give it a try.

I'm a ppiecing beginner but I have 2 of Carol Doaks books, bought on ebay, I think.....One of the books has a cd and you can resize the blocks and print directly from that so that one involves no tracing, etc.

I started with square in a square to get the hang of it and am gradually getting more detailed.

I just received the "Quilts through the Seasons" DVD and El gives a very nice demonstration of paper/foundation piecing of the February Heart quilt. You feel like you are right in the room with her while watching these.

Just saw Calicopuzzle's instructions and they are wonderful! Thanks.
Have Fun,
