Quiltcreator, I've got a B-line/Juki/QCC now. Ordered the Voyager 17 the other day. Now, I must decide between the Proflex or HintyStretch. Proflex is ratchet free, but there's no SR for it.....yet. The Hinty has ratchets, but has SR for it. Probably will bo with the Hinty for that reason. Amie

quilterbee, are those midarms? You know what, we should have a sixth category on here for machine quilters.

Thanks for all the help. My friend and I went to a quilt show yesterday held by Quilters Unlimited quilt guild. We saw so much between quilts and stuff to buy. Got lots of ideas.

Quiltcreator, I agree with you, a Machine Quilting catagory would be great! What do we need to do to get it set up? Amie

Probably just ask Andy. He has given us everything else we wanted!

Re: How to do the meander on the machine?
I've got a sewing machine from Wal-Mart (Simplicity Quilter's Machine), and I do my own quilting (see my quilts in the Photo forum).
I baste my quilts with safety pins, and I start in the middle of the quilt and go from there!!! It's a random motion, whatever you feel like doing... from what I've gathered (and this could be wrong) is that meandering is further apart than stippling - that's the only difference!

CindyB you are correct, the only difference is the spacing.
and if you cross over the threads just keep it consistant throughout whatever you are doing so it looks like the design of the quilting and not a booboo.

cindy b yes it is the spacing - something I used to do in the begining was try to mimic the fabric like one time I had a fabric with cherries in it my whole quilt was little cherries with stipple in between looked good but boy was I tired of cherries

Yes, it is good to practice with a "quilt sandwich". I used muslin and a dark color thread so that I could see what I was doing.
