I most always use invisible thread and have not had that problem. I use the thinnest weight and if possible I use regular thread in my bobbin.

You may have to put the invisible thread on a thread stand behind the machine. If you loosen the upper tension and it still breaks, try doing that. I'm not sure WHY it works, but it seems to work for me.

I've got it figured out and it's stitching like a dream. I needed to move the tension thing on the top of the machine to 4 and put the stitch length at 3-1/2.
I'm using a very fine nylon I've had in my sewing box for who-knows-how-long. I bought a big spool of another invisible thread but messed it up trying to find the starting spot on the spool. I could just scream ... there is thread unraveling on the spool everywhere, but NO END. It's probably a total waste.
Can you iron over invisible thread or will it melt?
