Hand Quilting
when hand quilting, how big sshould your stitches be?

I was taught - a bee's knee - so -- tiny! LOL
I think before you worry about how big - is that you work to get them even - the same size - one stitch to the next. After you have succeeded at that then move on to the size - I have seen in magazines that hand quilting should be anywhere from 10 - 15 or even 20 stitches to the inch.
So far - mine are not that small! I am in the range of 8-10 per inch and that is fine with me and my family who I quilt for.
The more that you hand quilt the tinier your stitches will become on their own.

I have to agree with Jana...even stitches are more important than how small they are, to me. I've seen some large quilting stitches that are beautiful, because they are so even!
