t shirt quilt quilting question
i am in the process of doing my first t shirt quilt i am putting my grand daughter taylor s picture in the middle of quilt and im wandering do you quilt on the block that has her face on it (its a 8x 10 picture) or do you just outline her hair and around the face im thinking to out line the block and her face and hair will be enough so what does everyone else do with photographs on there quilts?im sure hoping i dont mess it up

I would outline quilt the picture - the face - and then maybe some of the details of the clothing, hair, neckline, etc., that may be showing in the picture - just be sure to get enough coverage that the batting won't shift.
On the batt package it will tell you the spacing for the stitches recomended for that batting.

I put photos on my grandson's t shirt quilts that I made them...and I did minimal quilting..around the head..1/4 inch out. That was on a large picture...there was a small picture..about 5 x 7 that I only quilted on the border of the picture.
