Liberty Star

Post by quilter607 » Mon Mar 21, 2011 6:52 pm

I'm making the 12" Liberty Star from page 173ff of Victory Quilts. Following directions, cutting, sewing carefully, but still getting the points that aren't "even" 1/4 inch from the edge. Any help out there?
thanks

I don't remember having this problem (but then I pull on the fabric if it won't quite meet on the edges!) I also stopped sewing the seams towards the middle 1/4" from the tips (like you would do if you were hand sewing) so I could fan out the seams when I pressed it.
I actually started from the outside edges and sewed towards the center, stopping 1/4" from end and taking a backstitch to help hold them!. I'll take a look at the book tomorrow and see what it says. Good lucky (it's a challenging block, but so worth doing!)
