Basting in floor frame....

Post by PamM » Tue Oct 06, 2009 7:57 am

I'm hoping that someone can help me with basting. I read somewhere, now I don't know where, that a quilt can be put in a floor frame and basted. If so, can someone tell me how it's done?
Thanks, Pam

I have the Grace EZ three pole frame. I got that one because I found it in a for sale ad for $50. I baste all my quilts in that for machine quilting. You put the quilt in the frame just like you would if you were going to hand quilt it. Then you make basting stitches or pin baste. It goes really fast and no worrying about keeping the back tight and wrinkle free. I bought the frame just for basting. I have the king size length poles on it and use those for every size quilt. The frame folds flat against the wall and is very simple to take apart if you don't have wall space. I tried basting on a regular frame that wasn't a no baste frame and it was a mess.
