Baby blanket with rick rack
Yup, went to the quilt store told myself, only going to buy what I went for, and well of course we all know how that goes. They had this darling baby blanket made out of these two wonderful polkadot flannels. I had been going to make Destiny a blanket for when she comes home from the hospital, which shouldn't be too long, she is up to 4 lb. 12 oz. They had the darling wide rick rack to go with it. I aske the lady if there was a pattern (the edges were rounded) and she said no, you just make the two pieces like a pillow case inside out "with the rick rack inside" turn out and finish by hand. Easy for her to say. So now I am trying to figure out where to place the rick rack. Do I sew it first to one pices of flannel on the right side, put the other piece of flannel right side in on that and then sew that? HELP PLEASE

Re: Baby blanket with rick rack
When I used to sew with rickrack I would stitch it on first just a tiny smaller seam than would be used for the finished seam then when you turn it you wouldn't see a stitching line.
The blanket sounds very cute.

Thanks for the tip. I think I will practice on a scrap seeing as I bought a half yard more that the little paper with the yardage said.
