No sewing yet today, but I hope to complete handsewing the binding on a donation quilt. I'd forgotten how long it takes!

Hello, I am new to this but thought this is a nice area to jump in on if you will have me. I like doing scrap and stash projects so right now I am trying to learn the Log Cabin pattern I have about 50 blocks started but as you can see from the other post I got stonewalled and need some advice and help. I will go do supper and then go in put the log cabin away and I might just try and start cutting up the box of scrap for another scrap quilt. Thanks have a great night

Oh what a day.... I have to produce two blocks 12-1/2 inches for a raffle quilt ... so I got out my older ( 1994) books by QID and started making them... nothing went right. I then realized that Eleanor revised her direction for flying geese when she came out with her acrylic templates. ( I compared her directions from 1994 to later books ... past 1996 ...She added more fabric to her sky and geese measurements.

Sky is three inches bigger than the desired finished patch as stated in the the 1994 directions.
Geese are need to be one and a half inch larger.

Once I started using the revised measurement... my geese flew!

I have one more block to make then this should be done... YEAH

I have quite a bit of applique to do, so think I'll curtail this to applique. Maybe I'll at least get a 'needles worth of thread' done daily. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't....I sit on the couch with my laptop every night!
