Re: twin needle quilting
I use a twin needle to machine echo quilt or stitch in the ditch. I don't thread one needle and use it as a guide, I get perfect spacing using the twin needle. If I use thread in both needles I get wobbly but that's okay at least the wobbles are spaced perfectly!

Re: twin needle quilting
If you thread both needles, the quilting on the back will look like a zig zag stitch, as there is only one bobbin thread.

I know it will be zig zag on back, but will it last

I use a twin needle on my stained glass quilts, very fun! But, the back isn't pretty ;O( It's a ZZ on the back. If you use you T.N, just make sure the bobbin thread matches your backing really well. Amie

Interesting...I've never thought about using a twin needle for quilting. I like your idea, sewbug. I'll have to try that sometime. Would love to see some photos of quilting done this way. Thanks for giving me a new idea.

Re: twin needle quilting
I have used twin needles in several things. I leave enough thread at the beginning and end to either use needle to tie off with or do a locking stitch at the beginning and end and just knot tie with hand when ready to cut, Also IF I use a needle I just pull thread thur eye of needle tie off and the have the needle come up about 1/2 in. or more away from stitching and snip there. Hope this helps. Twin needle can also do small zigzag just check to make sure they can go thur the foot without breaking needles or jamming in machine. Take it slow at first. Eleanor used the twin needles on her vines or stems to make even.
