I'm stuck and need help...

Post by ranchlife4me » Tue Jan 29, 2008 12:40 pm

Hi everyone..currently in the process of making a bear's paw block. Normal traditional style no flipped. On the "paw" I have a print that is right side up. In other words, if you turn it as the bottom paw, print would be opposite. My question is do you "mirror" image top paw to bottom paw? I'll try to post picture if I can, but no promises...........LOL

You can try to to flip them. If you number them-

Left upper- 1
Right upper- 2
Left lower- 3
Right lower- 4

Move 3 into 2's spot.

Looking..........

can't figure out were to move the others. Just flip and move them around. But, honestly, the print is so small that it won't really show anyway. Amie

I think they look fine either of the ways in the photos. Like Amie said, it's a small print so put them the way they look best to you.

I think it would be lovely either way.

That's one of the reasons I love quilting, we can each do whatever the heck we want. I wouldn't overthink it too much, it looks great no matter what you decide!

I wouldn't worry about the directional print, unless you are planning on entering it in a quilt show. When you step back and look at it again, you may not even notice there IS a directional print in there--!

Most of all, just have fun!

Thanks to you all. I just was "wondering" because I never thought about it until I was laying things out to be sewn. Most blocks that I have seen were just the one, not a complete quilt. I decided to go with mirror image as that looks right to me. When its done, maybe I can post picture. This is for DS who is graduating this year. I know that I have to start early to get it done in time.
Blessings
