Just wanted to share a very special thank you with you all that made this possible ❤❤
I let her know that all of you had a hand in this ❤❤

This was messaged to me:
I am the widow of Michael Nelson whom you crafted this quilt for. It’s been four years and I’m finally able to look at this. I cannot tell you what this means to me. He passed of glioblastoma which is terminal brain cancer. He was the most amazing person I’ve ever known and so close to Jesus. We were MADLY in love. You’re such a blessing, Tina. I’m tearing up over the love you must have put into this quilt. Now, my son is in the Air Force so this represents him as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear soul.

In Him,
Natalie Ann Nelson

My heart goes out to her. Having experienced this cancer in my family I understand what she went through and is still going through. Praying she finds peace.

This dear sweet Michael was a best friend to my Son Shawn.,. all through High School. They were hunting and fishing buddies over the years. Michael spent a good deal of time at my house and was always a joy to have around.

A big thank you to Tina for quilting this for Mike. The blocks were from a swap we did way back when! You may recognize your own in the photo.

So nice to see that the quilt will now be used by Natalie's Son! Michael has a son by his 1st marriage--Gavin. Natalie has 2 sons by her first marriage but they made a wonderful blended family and all were there for Michael when he got sick. Glioblastma is a particularly aggressive cancer and even though they tried everything for treatment, Michael only lived about a year after his original diagnosis.

Just a little background info for you

Very nice. But I must be honest, I was having a difficult time understanding why you used Christmas blocks to frame it! Then it occurred to me, oh time for an eye exam!

Sorry Valerie, it's the only space I have big enough to lay them flat LOL and we only have our warm Christmas quilt for winter..... because the Quilter in this house is lazy about making us another warm winter quilt 🤣😂 plus I'm really not sure my shelf will hold another king size quilt..... but you watch, one of these days I'm gonna get more made 😉

Velda,

Fred is the husband of my friend Hortencia. Last year Fred had health issues that included cancer that was removed and with that part of his intestine was removed. He was in really bad shape but the cancer was in remission.

Well, this year, prior to the holidays, the cancer came back and is inoperable. He is having chemo treatments and has had one infusion. If the chemo doesn't work, and they aren't thinking it will, he will be made comfortable.

Hortencia is the lady I volunteer for Alzheimer's with.
