doing something nice again
If you have been to El's QIAD stores in Paducah you may have crossed paths with Ruthie. Some of you may remember the sisters on here who were so funny. Ruthie is one of them. Ruthie is trying to make pillowcases for a local hospital for children. She is not content with making a few. She is trying to make enough for a year! That is about 20 a week. She has gone through most of her stash and made a request on fB and to quilt shops for donations. If any of you have bright, children's fabrics, NOT BABY, and can donate it pm me and I will send you the address. She hasn't asked for help making them, just fabric and says she feels young ( she is 65) doing this.
She needs yards or 6 1/2 inch strips of bright colors for contrast colors or bright, cheerful kids fabrics. Again not Baby stuff.
Thanks.

I would love to help Ruthie! I have some already made, and will be on the lookout for more fabric. I do not have Ruthie's address.

Sandy sent you a PM, but forgot to ask how long of 6 1/2 inch strips does she need? I will cut some but need to know if there is a specific length of them. I have several cheerful kids fabrics.

Sandy, I have some bright stuff like I made the Merriman House quilt from. Maybe our little group could put together a care package for her. Will we need to be doing them for Merriman House again, also?

Karon, I think we should do both if possible. I will hold off on sending my box till we meet again. I have a couple of pieces I am wondering if they are to babyish for her.

Would love to help also. Can someone send me measurements and maybe post a photo of what type of children fabric she wants. Her address also, please.

Sandy, I went ahead and sent it to her. She said she got them made today. See you Friday.

I want to encourage help for Ruthie's project! But yes, I hope we'll do quilts and pillowcases for Merryman House again, too. Of course, that project is for next April.
Isn't it wonderful that we have so many willing to do whatever they can for others?!
