Lovely Linda's Quilt of Hope - new 9.30.09
Posted: Wed Sep 30, 2009 3:53 am
As many of you have read under chit chat, I met a very nice young woman named Linda who volunteers in the office of the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, which both DH and I volunteer for. DH has talked about Linda in the past and on Saturday I finally got to meet her. She has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and is beginning chemo.
I posted that I was looking for ideas and inspirations for a quilt for the lovely Linda and you have all inspired me! Many of you also offered help with blocks. So I am posting this new project!
**DISCLAIMER: If I am overstepping my bounds or stepping on toes or offending anyone, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know before this goes too far and I will delete all posts!!
I would like to do Friendship Star quilt using this pattern:
http://www.quilterscache.com/F/FriendshipStarBlock.html
(Go to www.quilterscache.com and under patterns hit Friendship Star 12").
This looks very easy and quick - I would like to do white on white for background and the star in springtime florals (bright, springy fabrics to give her hope that a new beginning is right around the corner). 12 1/2 inches unfinished please.
If you would like to send me a block or two, please pm me and I will send you my address. I would like to receive blocks by October 16 so I can put together the quilt and quilt it and get it to her before it gets too cold in Old Forge!
Thank you all so much for the inspiration and the offers of assistance. And more importantly, please keep Linda in your prayers!
