Just an idea to think about, but why don't we do the "Hands all Around Block" by El that we could all download right here on the website? it would be fitting for this angel in need and we wouldn't need to go elsewhere for any patterns?

I think we could get more people to donate blocks if we make it simple. Possibly a hatchet block. It only has 3 pieces and a place for a signature or message. When we made our first signature swap quilt, I emailed/pm'd other people and asked them to join. If someone only has to make one block and mail it in a leagal size envelope, they might be more inclined to make one. I think we could get a really big turn out this way.

What do you think?

Sounds like a plan, just have to ask, what's a hatchet block? Is it one in quilterscache? I think signing would be a nice thing to do.

We might get more people involved after the Sunday Holiday/weekend. Can we give it a couple days? Just a thought.

I'm at work tonight, but will post a picture of the block and size tomorrow.

Sue, we don't have a time frame yet. We're just getting things started. There will be plenty of time for people to join in.

Same question as Carol/kittyquilt, what is a "hatchet block"? I might be able to do 1 or 2 blocks.

I just found a link for a 12 1/2" hatchet block, it may or may not be the same as Lori is thinking but it's
