I know many of you have been praying for Renee, Debi's (astitchintime) niece. This dear young woman was in a terrible traffic accident just before her 21st birthday. She pulled through but her leg was amputated at the hip. She is going through a long and hard recovery.
I would love to make a quilt for this young woman to show her love, support, and encourage her on her recovery.

Are you interested in being part of this? Here's is what I need:

Renee's favorite colors are pink, purple, and ivory.

1. Make a 6 1/2" block in any star pattern. Please remember to leave a 1/4" seam so your star tips don't get cut off.

2. Please use pink, purple, or ivory fabric or any combination thereof.

3. I would like to have the blocks by February 15 so I can put it together and sent to her as soon as possible.

4. Please send the blocks to me:

Linda Parker
Quilt in a Day
1955 Diamond St
San Marcos, CA 92078

I hope a lot of you will join me in blessing this young woman with a quilt.

Oops! I had originally put my home zip code instead of QIAD! Thanks Ann for telling me!

Instead of signing the blocks, I think it would be great to send a note of encouragement to Renee and I will include them with the quilt when I send it to her. Of course I will post pictures!

1-27-09 Update - I will post here as the blocks arrive! Thank you to all of you wonderful, kind quilters!

I have 45 blocks and was laying them out last night, using purple for the lattice, it looked really good!

I can't wait to put this quilt together! I have started to lay it out and am trying to decide what to use for lattice and corner stones! Thank you all so much for these beautiful blocks! Renee is going to be so blessed by this quilt!

Thank you all, the blocks are perfect and so so pretty!
Can't wait to start laying this out! Every block is beautiful!!!

6 1/2" is that the unfinished size?

Would a friendship star be okay?

She's so young to be going through this!
