Saturday July 5th sew-in

*Smile*

WoW, I rolled out of my bed early this morning. It's almost 4:40.

We went to the fireworks, they expected 500.000 people, but the show was canceled, I think due to fire dangers.

We ended up having dinner at the Chula Vista bay restaurant, which was very tasty.

I'm itching to get back into my sewing and quilting next Monday.

Jeff is still fighting jet lag. It is super nice to have him at home again.

What is everyone else doing today?

Good morning! We had a great day yesterday and today are thinking of driving up to look at some property that belongs to some friends. It is 10 acres and they are contemplating selling it and want us to have a look at it. I am interested in it since it is up in the Texas hill country north of San Antonio, it would make for a nice weekend getaway until we could move out there. The only drawback is there is no house on the property but the area has been cleared and utilities run up there, except for water. The water would require digging a well, which we would have to check into the cost on that. Right now they have a travel trailer out there that they use when they go up and have offered it to us as a place to spend a weekend, if we would like. Anyway that is what we plan on doing today, but we won't be staying up there, we are just going to visit.

Don't know if I will have time to head back to JoAnns but maybe later or tomorrow, I think the sale on batting is until then. If not then I will have to wait for the next sale.

Good Morning early birds! This is my DS last weekend home so we are driving up to the rest area at Donner Summit to meet some family so they can visit for a few. Due to the fires in Plumas County we haven't been able to go up there. Yesterday, hiway 70 was still closed so we are going to go up 80 and hopefully my BIL can make it over 89 to get to 80. My DH parents are both showing signs of significant illness and I am concerned if DS doesn't see them now, he may not see them again. He only gets to CA every three years or so which is a long time when they are over 80 now. Then, hopefully we will be back in time so I can finish the binding on DS quilt so he can take it home. All the grandkids (5) and my Dad will be here for dinner tomorrow so not sure how much time I will have.

Good Saturday morning. I am doing a load of laundry to hang on the line and then to decide the placement of the "Yellow Brick Road" blocks that I finished yesterday, all 100 of them.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I'm up and at 'em this morning. After a few cups of coffee am trying to get the blocks (320 of them) sewed into larger blocks and then rows. Whew, it seems to be taking forever!! Am working on a Quiltville pattern called Hidden Spools. Just trying to use up some of my stash. Hasn't made a dent in it, I might add. Have DGS for the next couple of weeks and he will keep me going as he is only two and sooooo busy.
Have a great day sewing!

Good morning everyone! I have had my breakfast and will be going for a walk, then trying to tie up loose ends here in the sewing room. I have about 4 projects that I could COMPLETE today, IF I can just stay at it!! Will be checking in to see how you are all doing.

So glad Jeff is home, Tul! Sorry about the fireworks, but it's never a bad idea to avoid a fire!!

SewSew - that sounds like a wonderful opportunity! Texas Hill Country is so pretty.

Debbie - that must be a HUGE quilt with 100 YBR blocks!!

I have all the vertical rows sewn and took a break for lunch. I hope to have the top completed today.
