Post by sewcarolyn » Sun Jun 29, 2008 5:48 am

A west coaster starting the sew-in? It is 8:44 am and the sun in streaming through the window.
Plans.....
(1) Finish my coffee
(2) Finish reading the paper
(3) Sometime after 11 meet with a Girl Scout to review her girl Scout Gold Paperwork which needs Council Approval before she starts her project
(4) Sew John a new sleep shirt
(5) Dinner with my in-laws

Good Morning Carolyn,
How are you doing this morning? It sounds like your having a nice start to the day. We got up very early and went to Church then went to breakfast. I just started a load of clothes and I need to go for a walk. I also need to put some jars away in the kitchen and start canning. I really want to quilt today! Everyone with their list is making me want to work!!!LOL

I just love how some people make lists for their day, I can never seem to keep to my lists and end up carrying things over for days. I think I will look into just writing a simple list to start with and try not to get sidetracked during the day. I would probably get more stuff done if I at least wrote down the really important stuff.

Sewing today will be putting together a small lap throw for a friend and not much else. I think I will make time to look over my ufos again and see what is next.

Today is a slow day with not much to do other than to pick up our cat from the emergency vet clinic later today. The vet says he is doing well and is a bit grouchy, they haven't been able to get him to eat or drink much. Our cat is a real character and only likes to eat a certain type of food and loves to drink from a faucet in the bathroom. We have a pet water fountain for him because he loves to drink running water. DD#3 and DH got him used to drinking from the bathroom faucets or out of a small glass, drives me crazy. I refused to let him drink from the faucet so I bought the pet fountain which he will use when DD#3 and DH are not around. Tumble has trained my family well.LOL

Dreary day today, rainy & overcast, good day for quilting!! I've already done two loads of wash, cleaned the bathroom (yuck) and talked with both children. Plus read the Sunday paper. DH ran to the grocery store & came back with a fresh frosted donut. No need to cook breakfast today. We'll have leftovers from takeout for lunch & tonight is brats on the grill plus ???? Today I'll be working on hand sewing the binding on a quilt and I'll pop in Hairspray to watch. Kind of a quiet, lazy day today.

Sew Sew Goodmorning! Your cat certainly gave me a chuckle this morning! Glad to hear he is on the mend! I am a list maker, in fact it is so bad I simply have a checklist on the computer I print out of chores to do daily. Then I feel like more gets accomplished, because sometimes it feels like I just don't get anything done. You seem to get a lot done. I still am very impressed by how much you made for that baby shower last week! That was amazing!!

Good Afternoon :o) How is everyone today? I just finished mowing the front yard a bit ago and need to shower, then I think I will go play with the HQ and she if she will behave, I was having a terrible time with the tension but finally got her working good. Still need to think of a name for her, any suggestions?

Hi Littlebit! I think you should name her after a good quilter, so how about Ellie?

Good morning all, sadly this is my last full day at the beach and then back to the real world. I will only be home for a day and then off to the cabing by the lake. It is being sold after this summer so it may be my last trip up there....sad but necessary for the rest of the family. I am working on my CW blocks for a few more hours and then need to start packing up to leave in the early morning. DH wants to be on the road by 8am! LOL That probably won't happen but I humor him. :-)
What are you all working on??? I am so happy to be able to just sew because I want to this weekend. On the way home I am going to start my Christmas gift list and my goal is to have everything done no later than Dec. 1. That may not work out but it is a good goal.
Happy stitching!! Debi

Hey gals... haven't been on much and feel so behind on messages... just catching up on everything that has been going on in here! Been packing boxes, so not too much sewing going on... I do hope to sneak some in later today while Kyle is napping... we spent yesterday at the Del Mar Fair... got a little burnt and ate way to much junk food but we had a blast... glad it only comes once a year tough! LOL!

Carolyn... did Susanna come up to see you? I thought I had read someone else was picking up her family... like I said I am so behind on everything going on...

Well better go get some more boxes done before lunch! Long Beach is right around the corner... YIPPEE!!!

I'll check in later... hope you all get lots of sewing in!

Cheers!
