Happy Sunday Sew-In April 27

Post by sewcarolyn » Sun Apr 27, 2008 6:43 am

good morning! thought I would say hello and get this party going. I am tired we sat outside chatting with our friend until almost midnight. At various times we all went in and grabbed an afgan or quilt to wrap around us but it was a pleasant evening. It was great to re-connect with our friend and the conversation picked up as if 6 years had not flown past. When he walked in and saw Izzy he said "great now I feel old". the funny gift he brought her was a clip for his seat belt that he still had from when he used to pick her up at a babysitter when she was under 2. I was on bedrest during the last 3 months of my pregnancy with Julia and Rob offered to pick Izzy up and bring her home at 2 when he got off work. He then stayed with me everyday until John got home. What a great friend so glad we re-connected!

tissues please...
now I am off to sew...hmm..I should start planning a quilt for him...

Hi Carolyn.......sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your friend. And yes, you should start a quilt for him. It's wonderful to reconnect with old friends, isn't it? I'm finishing up my pastel blocks and then going to get working on a baby quilt (I've been putting it off for a couple of weeks). Got my cleaning done this morning & even did windows!! Now it's time for me to relax & enjoy this Sunday.

Hi Carolyn, glad you had a great time & way to go mequilter on those windows.

I gave the dogs a bath. A 13 lb Pom and a 85 lb Lab. Well, I am really wet from Yogi. Good thing it's 90 outside. LOL

Have to make myself sit down & cross stitch or DGS will not get his stocking AGAIN this year. :(

Hi Everyone!
Carolyn - You sound like it was a really great visit. Your friend must be very special to remember the seat belt clip. What a nice memory to share with your daughters!

ME - Windows? Wow you really were ambitious! Way to go! Isn't it nice to look out clean windows?

Carin - Glad to hear you are thinking about quilting. How is your mouth today?

Well, last night I was successful with one of the two butterfly blocks. However, I realized a while ago that if I wanted embroidered antenae I probably should have done it first! Oh Well, they are for the Block Lotto. Maybe I should just leave it, what do you think?

Hi everyone. Just got up and I'm ready to start the day. I played around with my mini flying geese ruler last night. What fun. They are so cute. Going to try and finish up my T blocks today. Also have to get some batting for a quilt. It's 98 degrees here already, so I'll be staying inside until it cools down a bit. Lori

Hi Lori! I have an air conditioner in my sewing/computer room and am hanging out in here. It is too hot! Last night I successfull made one butterfly block for the block lotto in June and wanted to try another today. They really are beautiful.

You could just use rickrack as the antenae. I bet it came out really cute. We put in central air last year. It was expensive, but well worth it when it gets hot. The last 2 summers were crazy hot. I don't even turn it on until it's over 90 or so. I like the heat, but it gets a little stuffy in the house. Lori

Lori - Rick-Rack is a great idea! I fear if I do anything it will take the block in and it will not measure 12-1/2 inches, which it does now. The block is really cute and I am thinking about making more.

Lori - We live near the coast (3/8 mile) and are usually cooler than the rest of the city, but not today! It is 92.8 degrees outside and 85 inside. Too hot for me!
